ARC Launches New Travel Agent Profile Communications Center
The Airlines Reporting Corp. (ARC) has taken a stand against the growth of spam and unwanted email by introducing the ARC Agent Profile. The online communications center allows travel agents to verify who they say they are and update contact information. In addition, it allows email personalization and frequency controls.
"All of us are flooded by so much email that is of limited value to our professional interests," said Lauri Reishus, ARC's vice president and chief operating officer. "We wanted to make sure that the communications ARC sends are the right ones. And the only way we can do this is by agents letting us know what they want to receive."
Agents have yet to receive communications announcing the ARC Agent Profile but will get them soon. The request to update their current contact and preference information can be made using their My ARC login. Some may be want to create a new profile. They can view and change their preferences at any time at the link. This is different from the annual reaffirmation required for travel agencies and is meant specifically for agency employees. Agent information will be used solely for the purpose of customizing ARC communications.
